Khaberni -The Turkish broadcaster Tijan Karash bid farewell to the limelight and screens after her image was etched in the minds of millions on the night of the failed coup attempt in Turkey in 2016, when she was forced under gunpoint to read the coup statement live on air from the building of the official Turkish Radio and Television.
9 years after that night she described as dark, Karash still remains a symbol of what Turkish journalists endured amid danger, and she never forgot the moment she read the statement, her voice trembling and tone anxious under the threat of the coup plotters.
According to the Turkish website haberler, Tijan Karash left her media career after that incident which marked a turning point in her professional and personal path, opting for a completely different direction, and becoming a human development coach.
Now, Karash travels among Turkish cities, participates in conferences and summits for self-development, and delivers lectures and training workshops for participants.
In one of her statements, Karash did not hide what she suffered that night, saying: "Some still ask if a gun was really pointed at you? What happened that night? I say: Yes. We lived in fear in every cell of our bodies, I will never forget it as long as I live, but thankfully they received their punishment.. I hope that night never repeats itself."
