Khaberni -The Indonesian Search and Rescue Agency announced on Tuesday that its rescue teams are searching for 11 individuals who went missing after a boat capsized amid bad weather off the Mentawai Islands in West Sumatra on Monday.
According to the Indonesian news agency "Antara", the agency reported that seven people have been rescued, noting that among the 18 people on board the boat, there were 10 local government officials.
Boats and ferries are common means of transportation in Indonesia, an archipelago consisting of over 17,000 islands.
Earlier this month, a ferry sank near the island of Bali, killing 18 people and 30 others survived among the 65 individuals on board.
