Bahrain Life imprisonment for a man who killed his colleague with a brick

The Grand Criminal Court in Bahrain began hearing the opposition of an Asian sentenced to life imprisonment after he killed his colleague at work by hitting him with a “brick”, where their roommate, who was sleeping at their place of residence, woke up to the sound of screaming and saw the defendant attacking the victim with a «brick» on his head, and threatening anyone who tried to intervene. The court decided to postpone the next session to July 20 to review and respond by the defendant's agent.

He added that the victim fell to the ground, began bleeding, and was breathing with difficulty. Other workers came to the room, noting that one person pulled the brick from the defendant's hand, and the police were immediately notified. The employer also testified that he received a call from one of the workers, informing him about the defendant's attack on the victim, who was bleeding and motionless, and immediately called the police and headed to the workers' residence.

The forensic doctor stated that after examining the victim's body it was apparent that the death was due to being hit with the brick pieces he also examined, and that all the strikes and fractures that appeared on the victim were located on the head and face.

The public prosecution charged the defendant that on March 8, 2025, he intentionally killed the victim by deciding to kill him, considered a piece of brick as a weapon, and as soon as he got hold of the victim, he started hitting him with the brick on his head, intending to end his life, causing the injuries, marks, and symptoms described in the report and autopsy, which led to his death.
