Khaberni -Medical sources in Gaza announced on Sunday evening the martyrdom of two journalists due to an Israeli bombing targeting their home in Gaza City, raising the number of journalists martyred since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip on October 7th, 2023, to more than 230 martyred journalists.
The Palestinian news agency "WAFA" reported that journalist Hossam Al-Adlouni was martyred along with his wife and three of their children in a bombing targeting a tent housing displaced people in Mawasi town, northwest of Khan Yunis, while journalist Fadi Khalifa was martyred in a direct bombardment while he was inspecting his home in Al-Zaytoun neighborhood southeast of Gaza City.
This comes after the martyrdom of Ahmad Abu Aisha, a reporter for a Palestinian channel three days ago, following targeting by an Israeli drone while he was in front of his house west of Al-Nuseirat camp in the middle of the sector.
In turn, the Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate mourned the martyrs, considering their targeting a new crime added to the black record of the occupation against Palestinian journalism, in a continuous attempt to silence the free voice and obscure the truth.
The syndicate in a previous statement confirmed that "the Israeli occupation follows a systematic policy in targeting journalists and media institutions, in a blatant violation of all international charters that ensure the protection of journalists during armed conflicts."
In the same context, international media centers expressed their deep concern about the rising rates of targeting journalists in the Gaza Strip, considering that the Israeli war has witnessed "the highest levels of violence against journalists in thirty years," calling for an end to these violations and for serious investigations into the crimes against media personnel.
It should be noted that the death toll in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7th, 2023, has risen to 58,026 martyrs and 138,520 wounded, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, amid the presence of many victims under the rubble of destroyed homes and on the roads, with rescue teams unable to reach due to the intensity of the bombardment and the dangerous conditions.
