Khaberni -The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing on Sunday, which especially included the situation in Ukraine and "relations with the United States," according to Moscow.

The Russian Foreign Ministry stated in a release that Lavrov and Wang "discussed relations with the United States and prospects for resolving the Ukrainian crisis."

The Russian minister visited the Chinese capital on Sunday after an official visit to North Korea in the preceding days.

China is a diplomatic and economic ally of Russia; it has never denounced Russia's attack on Ukraine since February 2022, nor has it called for the withdrawal of Russian troops from it.

However, China regularly calls for a cessation of fighting while at the same time accusing Western countries of fueling the conflict by arming the Ukrainian army to repel the Russian forces.

China claims to be neutral, yet several allies of Kyiv consider that it provides vital support to Russia.

The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that Lavrov and Wang addressed other "hot topics" on Sunday such as "the Israeli-Iranian conflict and the situation on the Korean Peninsula."
