Khaberni -MP Saleh Al-Armouti addressed 10 parliamentary questions to the ministers of Interior, Water, and Irrigation concerning As-Salt as follows:
In accordance with the provisions of Article (96) of the Constitution and pursuant to the provisions of Article (123) of the Internal Regulation of the Parliament, please address the following question to His Excellency the Minister of Interior.
1. Why aren’t there designated parking spaces for taxis and public vehicles in As-Salt
2. Does the ministry realize that this has caused confusion in traffic movement and recurrent traffic jams in several main streets
3. Does the ministry realize that the lack of parking has often led to random stops causing obstruction of vehicle and pedestrian movements especially in vital areas and markets
4. Does the ministry know that in many cases drivers are forced to stop in non-designated areas due to the lack of alternatives, which increases traffic chaos and creates tension between drivers and pedestrians leading to traffic accidents, thus affecting community security
5. Does the ministry intend to allocate organized parking for taxis and public transport which would contribute to reducing the pressure on the streets and achieving smooth traffic flow, thereby improving the transport situation in the city in general and As-Salt being one of the historical and tourist cities in Jordan
In accordance with the provisions of Article (96) from the Constitution and pursuant to the provisions of Article (123) of the Internal Regulation of the Parliament, please address the following question to His Excellency the Minister of Water and Irrigation.
1. Does the ministry know that Al-Magharib housing in As-Salt, inhabited by more than 20,000 people, has been suffering for years from the absence of a sewage network.
2. Does the ministry have comprehensive technical studies prepared for the project by the ministry or its departments
3. Does the ministry know that the sewage project for Al-Magharib housing is a priority for the ministry due to its strategic importance in connecting four residential communities to the sewage network, and providing complete infrastructure
4. Is there an intention by the ministry to undertake the sewage project, and when and which areas and route of the network? Is it true that the route will start from Al-Magharib housing passing through Batna, Aira, and Yerka areas, reaching Wadi Shuaib Station
5. Does the ministry know that the citizens in that area have been suffering for years from the lack of sewage services and that the legal obligation requires relieving harm and suffering from every citizen as stated in the Constitution "The state ensures the well-being of the citizens," especially since maintaining the status quo causes severe health and environmental damages, particularly on vulnerable groups like children and the elderly.
