Khaberni -According to an Israeli official, efforts are still ongoing to secure the release of Elizabeth Tsurkov, the Israeli-Russian academic, who was kidnapped about two years ago in Baghdad, according to the Hebrew site "Ynet".
This statement came after an Iraqi report indicated that the Israeli girl would be released in about a week.
The official added that "Israel has asked for assistance from the United States and other countries" to free her.
The Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades accuse the Israeli researcher Tsurkov of entering Iraq on "espionage missions" for a foreign entity inside and outside Iraq.
Elizabeth Tsurkov, a researcher specializing in Middle Eastern affairs, had entered Iraq in 2023, before her family announced her disappearance.
