Khaberni -The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate stated that the Anti-Narcotics Department, in cooperation and coordination with the Jordanian Customs and security agencies at the Jaber border crossing, managed to thwart the smuggling of 200,000 drug pills.
In detail, information was received about an individual of Arab nationality coordinating with people inside the kingdom to import large quantities of drug pills using a freight vehicle. The information was followed up, the vehicle and individuals to receive the drugs inside Jordan were identified, and upon the arrival of the freight vehicle, it was intercepted and upon inspection, 200,000 drug pills were found inside a tire, and concurrently, a raid was conducted, and the two individuals receiving the drugs were arrested after their location was confirmed.
In another case, a security force from the department raided a farm in the central desert used by a drug dealer of Arab nationality for his criminal activities, where he was arrested and upon searching the place, 18,000 drug pills were found, along with 5 firearms, one of which is automatic, and a quantity of live ammunition.
