Khaberni - A live video of Lebanese star Nadine Nassib Njeim stirred significant controversy on social media, documenting her experiencing harassment.
The video showed an unknown young man staring at her in a way that caused her confusion, prompting her to ask him: "Is there something?" to which he replied: "No, just checking if this is you or not, are you getting out?" referring to the elevator. Nadine replied to him in an angry tone: "No, I'm not getting out."
Nadine continued the situation with her audience saying: "You see? This is live, look how tricky he is," and when she headed to the elevator, she preferred to go up alone and refused the company of another young man, confirming that she takes precautions to avoid any harassment.
In talking to her followers, she added: "Look how much I take care of myself, and I've grown old and have kids, but believe me when I say I get nervous and scared. I don’t like to go up with anyone... I get as worried as the world."
The video received a wide interaction among social media users; where some considered that Nadine delivered an important educational message to girls about the necessity of caution and attention to harassment, especially in enclosed places like elevators.
On the other hand, others thought her reaction might be exaggerated, pointing out that the young man might have acted based on her being a well-known personality.
