Khbarney - The celebrations for the 79th Independence Day will begin on Friday evening and will continue for three days across all provinces of Jordan.

The Ministry of Culture announced the activities of the 79th Independence Day celebration program, in the capital and the provinces, which will start today, Friday, and continue until Sunday, May 25.

The celebratory program includes a variety of national events for the whole family. It features sections for children, including entertainment games, face painting, and gifts, as well as national and folkloric singing performances presented by national and folk bands, cultural competitions, in addition to bazaars selling local products and various handicrafts.

The events during this period will start from five o'clock until ten o'clock in the evening, while fireworks will be launched on May 25, starting at nine thirty in the evening at the Sixth Towers. There will also be displays of artistic panels by drone aircraft at 9:00 PM and at 9:45 PM in the Raghadan area.

For his part, Minister of Culture Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh said that Independence Day represents a pivotal stage in Jordan's history, symbolizing the sovereignty of the Jordanian state, its values, and its civilizational and humane legacy.

Al-Rawashdeh pointed out that "Independence is a national value that we all grew up with and pride ourselves on what it has provided our country in terms of advancement and progress through the stages of renaissance and building under the Hashemites, who enhanced the journey of progress and prosperity."

He mentioned that enhancing the concept and the meaning of independence, and instilling belief in it among school and university students and throughout society, and taking it forward in every aspect of life, is an important matter that the Ministry of Culture is working on through its publications, activities, and continuous programs.

He explained that the celebratory program in the capital and the provinces comes to express pride in Jordan's political and democratic achievements as it enters its second centenary.
