The Saraya al-Quds, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, announced today that its fighters managed to lure an armored Israeli engineering force into a tight ambush inside a rigged building east of the city of Khan Yunis, southern Gaza Strip.
The Saraya explained in a statement that the building was rigged with high-explosive devices and was detonated with the targeted force. It added that upon the arrival of Israeli rescue and relief forces at the site, they were targeted with an anti-tank missile.
The statement confirmed that helicopters landed in the area to evacuate the dead and wounded, without any official confirmations from the Israeli side about the incident so far.
