Iran fortifies its defenses and threatens fiercer retaliation against any US attack

Khaberni - Amid ongoing tensions and mutual threats between Tehran and Washington, Iranian authorities have started to fortify their defenses, mobilize their supporters, and threaten a harsher and more severe response against the United States, as they prepare for possible American attacks following the midterm elections.

Iranian officials have openly warned and in private talks with regional officials that their country will escalate further across the Middle East if America launches new strikes, according to the "Wall Street Journal".

Informed sources stated that the Iranian government has told intermediaries that it will target American military personnel more fiercely, including attempts to sink American warships in the Middle East and kill their crews, if subjected to new attacks.

The government is also preparing Iranians for the possibility of renewed war, by sending paramilitary forces to read war stories to children in kindergartens, announcing courses on using shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missiles, and organizing rallies and marches.

Protection of sensitive sites
Satellite images have shown that Iran has reinforced the protection of sensitive sites, including nuclear facilities and border areas, to make them more resilient to attacks.

Furthermore, it has been reported that Tehran has deployed combat units and support units along the country's borders to ensure its security. Brigadier General Ali Jahanshahi, commander of the ground forces in the Iranian army, announced the deployment of these units during an interview with the semi-official Mehr News Agency on October 10. Jahanshahi said: "Most ground force units are stationed on the northwestern, western, southwestern, eastern, northeastern, and southeastern borders of the country, particularly along the Makran coast, and are at a very high level of readiness."

He added that Tehran has taken "significant measures" to restructure its defensive capabilities following joint strikes by Israel and the United States in 2025. He continued: "We have reviewed our operational plans, made adjustments to our combat structure and organization of our forces, and prioritized equipping units with new weapons featuring precision strike capabilities, smart systems, and the ability to operate within interconnected networks."

These developments come as U.S. President Donald Trump reaffirmed that the conflict would end soon and oil prices would drop. Trump said during an election rally in Ohio last Monday evening: "Iran wants to reach an agreement but doesn't know how to do it."

He also repeated that Iran will never possess nuclear weapons. He previously pointed out that Iran has suffered significant losses, as its naval fleet and missile platforms have been destroyed, and its economy has incurred substantial damages due to sanctions and the naval blockade.

The United States has been at war with Iran since February 28th last year, when Washington and Israel launched attacks on Tehran and scattered military sites, in response to which Iranian forces launched strikes on Israel and Gulf countries.

Meanwhile, the mediators' efforts have so far not succeeded in achieving a final agreement that would end a conflict that has led to a decline in navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and a rise in global oil prices.
