Khaberni - Under the patronage of the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Imad Hijazin, the collaborative dialogue session for the Jordanian hotel sector and its partners commenced, discussing the role of excellence awards in enhancing the competitiveness of the private sector and encouraging outstanding performance, with the participation of the Executive Director of the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence, Widad Qatishat, and the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Mohammad Al-Majali, and the President of the Jordan Hotel Association, Hussein Halalat, the Vice President of the Association's Board, Hani Al-Dabbas, and a number of representatives from the hotel sector and related entities.
During the session, Hijazin emphasized the importance of the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence as a tool to support the development of the hotel sector, to instill institutional excellence concepts, enhance performance efficiency, improve service quality, and adopt the best administrative and operational practices, thereby enhancing the hotels' ability to compete and keep up with developments in the tourism sector.
He pointed out the importance of involving hotel sector representatives in the dialogue about the award criteria, requirements, and implementation mechanisms, contributing to the readiness of hotels to develop their performance according to clear standards of excellence and quality, and enhancing the level of services provided to visitors, affirming that promoting a culture of excellence is an important cornerstone for improving institutional and operational performance and developing the competitive edge of the tourism and hospitality sector in the kingdom.
On her part, the Executive Director of the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence, Widad Qatishat, reviewed the importance of the award and its role in establishing a culture of institutional excellence, and motivating private sector institutions to adopt development and continuous improvement methodologies, emphasizing the importance of partnership and dialogue with different economic sectors, to ensure alignment of excellence criteria with their needs and challenges.
For his part, the President of the Jordan Hotel Association, Hussein Halalat, stressed the importance of enhancing the partnership between the hotel sector and the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence, contributing to embedding the culture of quality and excellence within hotel establishments, and developing work methods and performance efficiency.
Halalat pointed out that participating in such dialogues provides an opportunity for exchange of expertise and acquaintance with best practices, and enhances the sector's readiness to meet development requirements and elevate the level of hotel services provided to visitors.
Vice President of the Jordan Hotel Association Board, Hani Al-Dabbas, added that the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence represents an important tool to support the development of the hotel sector, enhance concepts of institutional excellence, increase performance efficiency, and improve service quality, alongside encouraging hotel establishments to adopt the best administrative and operational practices.
Al-Dabbas underscored the importance of engaging the hotel sector in the dialogue on the award's criteria and requirements, which contributes to elevating the readiness of hotels for participation, enhancing their competitive ability, and developing the level of services provided to visitors, reflecting positively on the growth and development of both the hotel and tourism sectors in the kingdom.
The session witnessed a collaborative dialogue on ways to enhance the readiness of the hotel sector for the excellence requirements, develop institutional and operational performance, exchange expertise and best practices, in addition to discussing the sector's needs and the challenges associated with applying excellence standards, contributing to the elevation of the hotel services level and enhancing the competitiveness of the Jordanian tourism sector.
This session is part of the efforts aimed at enhancing the partnership between the public and private sectors, and instilling concepts of quality and excellence as a fundamental pillar for the development of the tourism and hotel sector in the kingdom, and preparing the establishments to keep up with modern standards and enhance their ability to provide quality and competitive services.
