Khaberni - Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said on Tuesday that leaders of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) abroad are on the target list, in the latest public Israeli threat to the members of the movement's political bureau.
Katz added: "Hamas leaders survived due to a mistake, but next time will come and they will be sent to hell," referring to the Israeli attack that targeted the movement’s leaders abroad during a meeting in Doha, to discuss a proposal to reach an agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli Defense Minister said: "The army assassinated the Northern Brigade commander and none of the killers who were part of the October 7 attack should die quietly in their beds."
Katz claimed that the assassination operations in the Gaza Strip aim to "strike the capabilities of Hamas on the way to disarming the movement."
Hamas mourned Izz al-Din Abdul Aziz al-Baik "Abu Hamza", the Northern Brigade commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades (the military wing of Hamas), who was assassinated by Israel in a bombing targeting an apartment in Gaza city early on Tuesday.
Previously, in September 2025, Israel targeted Hamas' political bureau leaders during a meeting in Doha to discuss a ceasefire proposal in the Gaza Strip presented by mediators.
The delegation survived the Israeli bombing targeting their headquarters, and no official was harmed.
In July 2024, Israel also assassinated Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas' political bureau, following an airstrike targeting him in the Iranian capital, Tehran.
