Khaberni - Egyptian investigative authorities have ordered the detention of 5 content creators for 4 days pending investigation, on charges of publishing clips described as indecent and contrary to societal values in Cairo and Alexandria.
Security forces, as announced by the authorities, monitored the suspects' activities on social media, finding that they posted video clips on their accounts aiming to increase viewership and achieve financial gains.
After completing legal procedures, security forces managed to arrest the suspects in separate incidents; mobile phones were found in their possession, and upon examination, evidence linked to the accused activities was discovered.
According to security authorities, the suspects admitted during questioning that they published the mentioned clips with the goal of achieving high viewership and financial benefits.
The investigative authorities are continuing their procedures in the incidents attributed to the suspects, while the detention order at this stage constitutes a measure pending investigations and does not represent a final judgment of conviction.
