Khaberni - Areas in the provinces of Deir Ezzor, Raqqa, and Hasakah in Syria witnessed popular protests and road blocking operations, following the recent rise in fuel prices.
The popular protests in areas of Syria included demands for price reductions and the implementation of measures to reduce the cost of living burdens on citizens.
Local information reported the cutting of several roads and preventing the passage of oil tankers in areas of the Syrian Jazira region, while some sites witnessed protest gatherings where participants expressed their rejection of the new increases in fuel prices.
In the countryside of Raqqa, the Deir Ezzor–Aleppo international road near the town of Hawija Shanana was closed using burning tires in protest against the rising fuel prices, while the Al-Karamah area witnessed roadblocks and the prevention of oil tanker passage.
Similar movements were also recorded in areas of Deir Ezzor, involving the blocking of main roads, at a time when protesters raised demands for the reduction of fuel prices to align with the harsh economic and living conditions.
