Islamic countries determine the date of Eid Al-Adha based on the Hajj rituals overseen by Saudi Arabia, where the final official announcement is issued by the Saudi Supreme Court after the sighting of the Dhul-Hijjah moon at the end of Dhul-Qa'dah.

Official holidays expected for Eid Al-Adha 2027
Arab governments usually grant an official holiday that ranges from 3 to 5 days for both public and private sectors, including the day of Arafat and the first three days of Eid Al-Adha as a minimum.

The details and duration of the holiday differ from one Arab country to another, according to official decisions issued by the relevant government bodies as the occasion approaches.

Confirmed Sunnah of Eid Al-Adha 2027
Based on evidence and data issued by official religious bodies, including Fatwa houses and Ministries of Awqaf around the Islamic world, Muslims observe Eid Al-Adha with a collection of worship practices and prophetic traditions and social etiquettes associated with this ritual, notably:

Takbir and Talbiyah: starts from the dawn of the day of Arafat, corresponding to 9 Dhul-Hijjah, and continues until the afternoon of the last days of Tashreeq, corresponding to 13 Dhul-Hijjah. Takbir is unrestricted in markets and streets, and confined after prescribed prayers.
Refraining from cutting hair and nails: It is recommended for those intending to offer the sacrifice not to cut anything from their hair or nails from the first night of Dhul-Hijjah until the completion of their sacrifice.
Preparing for the Eid prayer: It is recommended for men to perform ablution, wear perfume, and don the best and cleanest garments before heading to the prayer ground.
Delaying eating: It is recommended on Eid Al-Adha to delay eating until after performing the Eid prayer, so that the first thing a Muslim eats is from the sacrifice of Eid, if possible.
Taking different routes: It is recommended to head to the Eid prayer ground by one route and return home by another to spread peace and display the joy of the holiday.

Rituals of sacrificial slaughter
The ritual of slaughtering begins immediately after the completion of the Eid prayer, and it is not correct to slaughter before performing it, and the time for offering extends until the sunset of the third day of Tashreeq. The religious etiquettes of sacrifice include several guidelines, among them:

Compassion towards the animal: not dragging it harshly, sharpening the slaughtering tool quickly, and shielding it from the sight of other sacrifices.
Facing the Qibla: orienting the slaughter and the slaughtering spot towards the Qibla, with naming and Takbir at the time of slaughter.
Recommended distribution: It is recommended to divide the sacrifice into three parts; a third for the household, a third for relatives and exchanges, and a third for the needy and poor.
Adhering to general rules: slaughtering should be done in designated and licensed places to protect the environment, without leaving remnants in the streets and not giving the butcher his wages from the meat or skin of the sacrifice.
Maintaining kin relationships during Eid Al-Adha
Maintaining kin relations and visiting are among the social customs associated with the holiday, including exchanging visits among relatives, working to end disputes and resentment, and spreading the values of forgiveness among family members and the community.

It is also recommended to provide generously for one’s family and the poor, to bring joy to children and the spouse, along with distributing charity to enhance social solidarity during the days of Eid.
