Khaberni - A state of anger and resentment prevailed after Liverpool's draw at home against their guest Nottingham Forest today, Saturday, in the second round of the English Premier League.
Liverpool players and their new Spanish coach Andoni Iraola faced a torrent of biting reactions, but the lion's share of the resentment was directed towards Dutch right midfielder Jeremy Frimpong, who bears the brunt of the disappointing result for the "Reds" in their stronghold.
Jeremy Frimpong was one of the team's worst players, receiving a low rating (6.3 out of 10 points) during the period he participated before being replaced by his Dutch teammate Gravenberch.
The Dutch player gave a poor performance against Nottingham Forest's attack line, and fans considered him a reason for the team's failure to win their second game in the Premier League.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher commented on Jeremy Frimpong's performance against Nottingham Forest, saying: "When Liverpool signed Frimpong, I thought we couldn't be stopped, he had a bad first season but then I thought he needed to first adapt to the Premier League, but after watching his first two matches this season, Liverpool needs to sell him and bring in a new right-back."
He added: "He plays like a player in the English Championship League and we will be in that league if Andoni Iraola continues to rely on him."
Social media platforms also buzzed with sharp criticism of Jeremy Frimpong, with some Liverpool fans describing him as "the worst footballer to ever wear a Liverpool shirt", and others saying he is "definitely, one of the worst deals the officials have made in the history of the club".
The newspaper "Give Me Sports" considered that this anger towards Jeremy Frimpong was unprecedented for any Liverpool player.
Liverpool fans also attacked the German player Florian Wirtz, but the greater resentment was towards his compatriot Frimpong, with many considering that "Wirtz showed no determination or resolve, but was just a player moving around the field, without seeming to be doing his utmost to achieve anything".
Liverpool had signed Frimpong, 25 years old, as a replacement for right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, in a deal worth 29 million pounds from Bayer Leverkusen last summer.
