Khaberni - The Meteorological Department said on Saturday that the kingdom is gradually being affected from tonight by a weak state of atmospheric instability, which will continue until Sunday evening.
The Meteorological Department told Al Mamlaka channel that clouds are increasing at various altitudes in the north and center of the kingdom and parts of the southwest, expecting outbreaks of rain to start during the late night hours in the north of the kingdom, and to extend during the dawn and morning hours to include central and southwestern areas.
It indicated that the showers will be weak to moderate in intensity, and thunder may accompany them in the north of the kingdom, noting that the situation is accompanied by an increase in wind speed in most areas, which may lead to dust being raised, especially in desert areas.
It warned of reduced horizontal visibility due to dust in desert areas, and of fog formation during the late night hours and the morning of Sunday, especially above mountainous elevations, urging caution due to the potential for slipping on roads experiencing rainfall.
It explained that the influence of the weather condition gradually recedes after the afternoon hours of Sunday, as conditions return to stability in most areas of the kingdom during the evening hours.
Regarding the possibility of the kingdom being affected by other states of atmospheric instability in the coming days, the Meteorological Department said that the weather maps and numerical models available at the Meteorological Administration do not indicate, so far, the presence of other states in the next few days.
It pointed out that the occurrence of atmospheric instability during the summer season, although rare, remains possible, recalling an instance that Jordan witnessed during the period from 10 to 13 August 2025, which was accompanied by heavy rain showers; short and thunderous, especially in the south and east of the kingdom, and led to the formation of torrents in some areas.
