Khaberni - Trabzonspor announced on Monday evening that it has officially signed Brazilian international football player Fabinho for two seasons, in a free transfer deal, following the expiration of his contract with Al-Ittihad Jeddah.
The Turkish club stated in a statement that it has reached an agreement for two years with the player Fabio Henrique Tavares, known as "Fabinho", who became available to move after the end of his contract with his former club.
It added that, under the agreement, the player will receive an annual guaranteed salary of 2.6 million Euros, along with a signing bonus of 1.4 million Euros per season.
Fabinho, 32 years old, joined Al-Ittihad Jeddah in the summer of 2023 coming from Liverpool, after five successful seasons with the team, before leaving the Saudi club at the end of his contract.
The Brazilian midfielder played 111 matches with Al-Ittihad in various competitions, during which he scored 7 goals and provided 9 decisive assists, contributing to the team's winning of the Saudi league and the King's Cup double in the 2024-2025 season.
Fabinho's move to Trabzonspor represents a reunion with his former Liverpool teammate, Egyptian international Mohamed Salah, after they were part of the generation that achieved many accomplishments with the English club between 2018 and 2023, before joining forces in a new experience this time in the Turkish league.
