Khaberni - In another sporting achievement that reflects the excellence of Amman Arab University students and the diversity of their participation in university gatherings, the chess team at Amman Arab University claimed first place and the cup of (IEEE Sports Tournament 2026), which was held at Tafila Technical University, participated by several branches of(IEEE) from Jordanian universities, amidst a competitive atmosphere marked by enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and cooperation among the participating students.
The tournament witnessed competitions in a variety of sports, including football, basketball, table tennis, badminton, and chess, where the participating teams offered distinguished levels that reflected the competitive spirit and their eagerness to achieve honorable results, the Amman Arab University chess team managed to achieve first place in the tournament as a result of the outstanding performance by the team members, who were able to decide the competitions in their favor and win the tournament cup, and the victorious team included: student Abdul-Ilah Sweidan from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and student Kirlos Isaac from the Faculty of Law, and student Osama Al-Kalbani from the Faculty of Information Technology, and the presence of Amman Arab University was not limited to chess competitions only, but alsothe football team achieved fourth place, as did the table tennis team, reflecting the university's diverse participation and its students' ability to compete in various sports.
This achievement is a fruit of the support provided by the Dean of Student Affairs, represented by the Sports Activity Section, to the teams and participating students through continuous monitoring, preparation, training, and efforts to develop their skills and readiness for competitions, in addition to providing the appropriate environment that enables them to present their best levels and represent the university honourably.
