Khaberni - The Spanish coach Mikel Arteta has raised Arsenal's ambitions to the highest level by announcing the Gunners' goal in the new season.
Arteta confirmed that Arsenal's goal for the upcoming season is not limited to winning domestic titles but also to reach a status that makes them «the best team in the world».
Arteta's statement comes after a historic season in which Arsenal managed to break its long wait to win the English Premier League "Premier League" title, securing the championship for the first time since the 2003-2004 season, ending a 22-year wait.
The team also reached the final of the UEFA Champions League before losing to Paris Saint-Germain in a penalty shootout.
Arsenal's goal in the new season
It seems that the local and continental success has not lowered the coach's ambitious ceiling but has pushed him to think about the next step in his project with Arsenal.
Before the launch of the Premier League match on Friday against newly promoted Coventry at Emirates Stadium, Arteta said: "It is definitely the ambition of the club and the owners that we be the best club in the world".

He explained: "These are the ones who win football matches and can be decisive when it matters".
