Khaberni - The Iraqi National Security Service announced on Tuesday the arrest of 184 suspects in terrorism, drugs, and extortion cases during June, as part of the results of its specialized operations across various provinces.
A statement from the National Security, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that the operations in June 2026 included the arrest of 184 suspects involved in terrorism, drugs, and extortion cases, in addition to other various cases.
The statement clarified that these operations resulted in the arrest of 26 suspects for terrorism, 57 for trading and promoting drugs, 101 for extortion and threats, in addition to 41 suspects in fraud and deception crimes, 15 suspects for affiliating with extremist religious movements, 48 suspects for affiliating with the banned Ba'ath party and promoting it, as well as 5 suspects for human trafficking and 8 for smuggling oil derivatives.
The statement also mentioned the seizure and destruction of 352 tons of expired and banned food items, and the closure of 80 sites and commercial centers for violating approved regulations and terms.
