Khaberni - Egyptian security forces revealed the details of a video that was widely circulated showing a group of individuals openly promoting drugs, which sparked widespread outrage on social media.
A statement from the Ministry of Interior confirmed that six unemployed individuals were identified and apprehended, five of whom had previous criminal records, all residents of Giza Province engaged in the drug trade. When the circulated video was examined, their locations were determined.
According to the security statement, the operation succeeded in finding a quantity of the drugs "ice" and "powder" on the suspects, along with a white weapon. These seized items reinforced the accusations of trafficking and promotion.
When confronted with the findings of the investigation and the seizures, four of the suspects admitted to possessing the drugs with the intent to trade, while the other two confessed they were among the users who frequented the suspects to obtain drugs.
This incident is part of the swift security response to deal with video clips circulated on social media, especially those that reveal illegal acts or pose a threat to community security.
