Israel continues its violations in Syrian territories

Khaberni  - Israeli occupying forces continue their violations of Syrian territories, where a force from the occupation army last night penetrated into the western rural area of the Daraa governorate in southern Syria and fired towards civilian houses, in the latest escalation witnessed in the border area.

According to the Syrian "Al-Ikhbariya" channel, a patrol belonging to the Israeli occupation penetrated a mortar squad in the village of Maariya in the western countryside of Daraa, and fired towards civilian houses.

The channel did not report any injuries or damages, nor did any immediate comments from the Syrian authorities or the Israeli army regarding the incident.

This comes less than 24 hours after the Israeli army fired towards civilians in Daraa governorate and targeted a village with artillery shells, concurrently with the flight of warplanes in the area’s skies.

Widespread Arab Condemnations

Several Arab countries condemned the Israeli violations in Syrian territories, calling on the international community to intervene and take responsibility towards them.

Statements issued by the foreign ministries in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt condemned the continuing Israeli occupation authorities’ blatant violations in the region, the latest being the penetrations into Syrian territories and targeting the provinces of Quneitra and Daraa with artillery shells.

The statements expressed a staunch rejection of terrorizing civilians, violating international laws and customs, affirming the necessity of stopping Israeli transgressions on Syrian sovereignty, adherence to the 1974 disengagement agreement, supporting the unity and integrity of Syrian territories, urging the international community to take responsibilities, and to deter and hold Israel accountable for its repeated aggressions.

The Arab League and Gulf Cooperation

Also, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, strongly condemned the repeated Israeli aggressions inside Syrian territories, including artillery bombardment on Quneitra and Daraa.

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasim Al-Badiwi, expressed his strong condemnation of the Israeli penetrations inside Syrian territories and targeting of Quneitra and Daraa with artillery shells, emphasizing the council’s solidarity with Syria in maintaining its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Syria has been witnessing - for months - an escalation in Israeli aggressions, including raids and searches of civilian homes, establishing checkpoints, and arrests.

After the overthrow of the Bashar al-Assad regime on December 8, 2024, Israel declared the collapse of the 1974 separation of forces agreement and the occupation of the Syrian buffer zone.
