China Prepares to Open the Worlds First Fully RobotOperated Hotel in 2027

Khaberni - China has announced plans to open the world's first hotel fully managed by robots, marking a significant step towards the complete automation of hospitality.

The hotel is located in Guangdong Province and is scheduled to open in 2027, with management by Pudu Robotics.

The hotel will rely on robots to provide all key services, including reception, room service, cleaning, food preparation, and guest assistance, according to a report on the "Interesting Engineering" specialized technology and innovations news site, reviewed by "Al Arabiya Business".

The project is based on Pudu Robotics' experience in deploying service robots in retail, restaurants, and commercial cleaning, expanding automation into the operation of an entire hotel.

The project is described as the first "hotel to rely on robots in all service scenarios," with robots handling all major functions in the hospitality sector, including reception, check-in, room service, cleaning, food preparation, and guest assistance.

The hotel will open in phases, with public trials starting in late 2026.

In the first phase, a limited number of rooms will be opened to visitors, aiming to provide an experience of reception services relying on robots, self-service delivery within rooms, and other AI-supported hospitality features, before the full opening of the hotel.

Kong Gu, co-founder and CTO of Pudu, said: "This initiative offers an opportunity to explore new service models, where AI and robots work together to offer smart and integrated experiences in the real world."

The minds leading the robots
Unlike traditional smart hotels that use separate automation systems to perform specific tasks, Pudu Robotics Hotel is designed to function as a fully integrated robotic system, where several robots collaborate across all stages of the guest experience.

According to the company, the robots will communicate through a shared intelligence platform to provide continuous and personalized service throughout the hotel, from check-in and concierge services, through order delivery to rooms, food services, cleaning, and up to other guest-related services.

This integration is not limited to services provided to guests but also extends to backend logistical operations, making the project one of the first fully autonomous and integrated robotic hospitality environments in the world.

The hotel's operations will rely on the company's basic embodied intelligence model, "PuduFM 1.0", and the general embodied AI platform "PuduAgent".

The system is based on models of vision, language, execution, and navigation technologies based on world models, allowing robots, despite their different designs and functions, to work within a common AI framework.

Reception robots will be able to understand speech, gestures, and social interactions, while delivery robots will autonomously determine the best routes, and cleaning robots will adapt to changes in the surrounding environment instantaneously.
