Khaberni - The recovery of the body of a young Turkish man who died in an accident, in preparation for his funeral and burial, witnessed a fight between his wife and his mother; which sparked widespread criticism for the ongoing conflict between the daughter-in-law and her mother-in-law even at the funeral.
A video clip from the accident site in Edirne, northwestern Turkey, showed a verbal altercation between the wife and her mother-in-law, which nearly escalated to a physical fight if not for the intervention of those present including police officers and rescue and ambulance teams.
Local media reported that search and rescue teams found the husband, Onur Totunicihmiz, 31 years old, dead in a water canal in a rural area, after his family reported losing contact with him after he left home on a motorcycle.
Ambulance and police teams arrived at the location where the young man's body was found, and his family also arrived at the scene, before a verbal altercation began between the daughter-in-law and the mother-in-law with mutual accusations regarding the responsibility for the accident that killed Onur, who left behind two children.
The police are investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the young man's death and to ensure there are no suspicions about the circumstances that led to his demise, which sparked a conflict between the daughter-in-law and the mother-in-law.
Turkish television stations broadcasted the video showing the altercation and the attempts to physically clash between the deceased young man's mother and his wife, and bloggers on social media wrote phrases criticizing their behavior.
