AlBaytar Lectures Faculty Members at Amman Ahliyya Universitys College of Pharmacy about Innovation Protection and Intellectua

Khaberni -  The College of Pharmacy at Amman Ahliyya University hosted the lawyer and Intellectual Property and Arbitration Specialist Osama Al-Baytar, in a specialized scientific lecture for faculty members titled “Intellectual Property and Scientific Research in Pharmacy: How do we protect innovation and turn it into scientific and economic value?”, as part of the college's initiatives aimed at promoting a culture of innovation and protecting the outputs of scientific research, organized by Dr. Asma Al-Ghazi.

The lecture discussed several dimensions related to innovation protection in the academic environment, notably the conditions for obtaining patents, the priority of patent registration before scientific publication, the ownership of inventions resulting from university research, mechanisms for converting scientific research results into products and investment projects, in addition to the impact of artificial intelligence applications on intellectual property rights.

Al-Baytar emphasized that protecting intellectual property has become an essential part of the modern scientific research ecosystem, and that universities are no longer solely tasked with producing and disseminating knowledge, but are also required to protect innovation, manage intellectual property rights, and transfer technology, which contributes to transforming research outputs into scientific and economic value that serves the community and the national economy.

The lecture witnessed an interactive dialogue among faculty members discussing the major legal and practical challenges facing researchers in protecting their innovations, and the importance of building university policies that enhance intellectual property culture and support innovation.

At the conclusion of the lecture, Dr. Arwa Al-Khatib, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Amman Ahliyya University, honored lawyer Osama Musa Al-Baytar in appreciation of his contribution to enriching academic dialogue and raising awareness about the importance of protecting innovation and intellectual property in scientific research.
