Khaberni - The Iraqi News Agency announced the registration of this number of detainees within a campaign described as extensive, confirming that the operations are still ongoing, while the Federal Integrity Commission continues to execute arrest warrants against suspects involved in public money related cases.
According to official sources, the list of detainees included several prominent political and parliamentary figures, among them the leader of the Azm Alliance and member of the House of Representatives, Muthanna al-Samarrai, and the Deputy Minister of Oil for Distribution Affairs, Ali Maarij.
The list also included several deputies, among them Ziyad al-Janabi, Baha al-Nouri, Mohamed al-Karbouli, Aaliyah Naseef, Mohammed Jameel Al-Mayahee, Hassan Al-Khafaji, Abdul Rahman Al-Luwaizi, Mudar Al-Karawi, Hind Al-Abbassi, and Bushra Al-Qaisi, alongside others.
The Integrity Commission confirmed that the detention procedures followed tracking, monitoring, and extensive investigations, coordinated with judicial and executive authorities, as part of efforts to combat corruption and recover public funds.
With the campaign still ongoing, attention turns to whether the coming days will reveal new names in this case, which has been described as one of the largest corruption files in the country recently.
