According to "Mundo Deportivo" newspaper, the Australian team will be without the duo Mathew Leckie and Jacob Italiano until the end of the 2026 World Cup due to injuries.
The Australian Federation said in a statement: "The Australian Football Federation wishes Jacob and Mathew a speedy recovery and thanks them for their contributions during the tournament."
35-year-old Mathew Leckie, playing in his fourth World Cup, has become the Australian player with the most appearances in World Cup finals, totaling 11 appearances.
