Khaberni - Tomorrow, Sunday, marks the thirty-second birthday of Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, the eldest son of His Majesty King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah, and the forty-second descendant of our master Muhammad, peace be upon him.
The Crown Prince was born in the city of Amman on the nineteenth of Muharram in the year 1415 Hijri, corresponding to the twenty-eighth of June 1994.
The Royal will was issued choosing Prince Hussein as the Crown Prince on the ninth of Rajab in the year 1430 Hijri, corresponding to the second of July 2009, and he has been appointed as the deputy to His Majesty the King several times.
His Highness graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in Britain in 2017, the same academy from which His Majesty King Abdullah II and, may God forgive him, His Majesty King Hussein bin Talal, whose grave may be sanctified, graduated.
The Crown Prince also graduated in 2016 from Georgetown University, specializing in International History, and he completed his high school education at King’s Academy in Madaba in 2012.
His Highness held his marriage to Princess Rajwa Al Hussein on the twelfth of Dhu al-Qa'dah in the year 1444 Hijri, corresponding to the first of June 2023, and His Highness was blessed with Princess Iman bint Hussein on the twenty-eighth of Muharram in the year 1446 Hijri, corresponding to the third of August 2024.
The Crown Prince holds the rank of Major in the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army, and he serves as the assistant commander of the 101st Battalion, one of the units of the King Abdullah II Special Operations Command.
Prince Hussein, along with his comrades-in-arms, participated in many military and specialized field training courses, parachute jumping, special operations, maritime forces, and vertical aviation, and His Highness pays great attention to active and retired comrades-in-arms.
The Crown Prince continues to follow the implementation of His Majesty the King’s directives through visits and inspection tours.
His Highness the Crown Prince is focused on holding outreach meetings with the youth from various provinces of the kingdom, listening to their ideas and suggestions in various fields and enhancing their participation and positive contribution to building the future of Jordan, in addition to meetings with representatives and notables of tribes and provinces.
His Highness has a special focus on youth, manifested in the creation of the Crown Prince Foundation in 2015, aiming to empower young men and women in all provinces with opportunities and skills in highly competitive fields, with more than 2 million beneficiaries annually from the foundation’s initiatives and programs.
The Al Hussein Technical University, affiliated with the Crown Prince Foundation, was established in 2016 to provide technical applied education focusing on specialties required in the labor market.
His Highness the Crown Prince is interested in sectors of tourism, technology, vocational and technical education, and follows the progress of the projects and plans of the National Council for Future Technology, which is working on several projects to enhance the kingdom’s status in the digital economy and improve the services provided to citizens.
His Highness represented Jordan at numerous international forums, on behalf of His Majesty the King, including the World Economic Forum in Davos and the informal meeting of the European Union and regional partners in Cyprus.
His Highness the Crown Prince conducted a number of official work visits, including Arab and foreign countries, during which he held several meetings with their leaders and senior officials to discuss enhancing Jordan's partnership with them in all fields.
His Highness the Crown Prince received the Order of Independence of the First Degree, the King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein Order of Excellence of the First Degree, the State Centennial Medal of the First Degree, the Royal Order of the Polar Star from the Kingdom of Sweden, the Royal Order of Saint Olav of the First Degree from the Kingdom of Norway, and the Renaissance Order of King Hamad of the Superior Degree (the Collar), from the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Medal of the Century of the Great Arab Revolt.
His Highness's interests include football, diving, adventure sports, and shooting.
