Khaberni - Israeli media reported on Saturday that the military will withdraw part of its combat brigades from southern Lebanon, based on the framework agreement between Israel and Lebanon, which includes fourteen clauses.
Media outlets published details of the agreement, among its clauses, the Lebanese Armed Forces will regain authority throughout Lebanon, after verification of the disarmament of non-governmental armed groups, allowing the Israeli army to gradually redeploy outside Lebanese territory.
In the agreement, Lebanon confirms that its security forces have the exclusive responsibility for the security and defense of Lebanon, and deciding on matters of war and peace.
The agreement between Israel and Lebanon also includes that Israel has the right to respond if attacked by Hezbollah, with the necessity for both countries to live in peace side by side.
Lebanese sources also confirmed that the framework agreement with Israel clearly discusses "phased redeployment" and does not include any recognition of a permanent Israeli military presence.
The Lebanese sources added that a statement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is inconsistent with and exceeds the framework project.
They also noted that the deployment of the army will not be dependent on permission from Israel.
They pointed out that the establishment of pilot areas is done by mutual agreement and is not solely determined by Israel.
For its part, the Lebanese Embassy in Washington described the framework signed with America and Israel as a milestone in diplomatic efforts to restore security and stability in Lebanon.
It emphasized that the framework stipulates the implementation of two pilot phases that include the Israeli withdrawal and army deployment.
The Lebanese Embassy stated that the framework marks the first step towards a gradual and comprehensive withdrawal from all Lebanese territories, with full respect for Lebanese sovereignty.
It added that Lebanon has drawn a sovereign path based on dialogue instead of war.
