Khaberni - Former Kuwaiti national team goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Khaldi has reignited controversy with Jordanian fans, after he posted a picture of Qatar national team star Akram Afif, following the widespread interaction his previous tweet criticizing the Jordanian team received.
Al-Khaldi's previous tweet sparked a significant reaction after he ridiculed the justifications for the Jordanian team's loss to Algeria, considering the participation of "Al-Nashama" in the World Cup as one of the "negatives" of increasing the number of teams to 48, which prompted hundreds of Jordanian fans to respond, with the number of comments exceeding one thousand.
Following this controversy, Al-Khaldi posted a picture of Akram Afif celebrating during the Asian Cup final against Jordan, and accompanied it with the verse:
"And when the beloved comes with a single sin,
His virtues bring a thousand intercessors."
He added: "The great remain great", with the hashtag #Akram_Afif.
