The Ministry of Public Works and Housing announced the commencement of maintenance works on Al-Salt Road from Al-Dababneh Bridge to the Circular Sixtieth Street, starting Friday.
The ministry stated on Thursday that these works are part of the project to maintain asphalt mixtures, execute traffic safety works, protect water structures, and drain rainwater, on a number of main roads within the central region, which also includes the roads of Muwaqqar, the Airport, Circular Al-Salt, and Al-Salam/Dead Sea road.
The ministry added that traffic diversions will be implemented in cooperation with the Central Traffic Department and Highway Patrols, as part of a traffic plan aimed at maintaining the fluidity of traffic movement, through sequential phases and using temporary traffic diversions equipped with all necessary traffic safety elements and warning signs. It noted that the works will be carried out at night from 1:00 AM to 6:00 AM every day until the completion of the project.
The ministry explained that the project’s duration is 180 days, with an estimated cost of nearly two million dinars. The works include milling existing asphalt layers, treating depressions and cracks, and re-constructing new asphalt layers. Additional tasks include cutting, filling, and bedding in specified locations, ground paint works, traffic safety elements, protection of water structures, and rainwater drainage works, all according to the highest technical specifications and standards.
The ministry urged road users to adhere to traffic and warning signs at work sites, comply with the instructions of the ministry’s staff, Central Traffic Department, and Highway Patrols, and to follow safe driving principles to ensure the safety of citizens and workers, and to guarantee the completion of works within the set timelines.
It is noted that the ministry has completed the scheduled maintenance works on Muwaqqar road (from the Training City to Al-Faisaliah signal) and Al-Salam/Dead Sea road, as part of the executed phases of the contract. The work is currently continuing on Al-Salt road (from Al-Dababneh Bridge to Zai Bridge) according to the adopted timetable.
