Khaberni - Dutch earthquake monitor Frank Hoogerbeets warned last Wednesday evening of a critical astronomical situation that could expose the Earth to strong seismic activity, based on his theory which connects the movement of planets with earthquakes on Earth.
Hoogerbeets posted on his channels and official social media accounts, saying: "The astronomical situation of the planets and the moon over the next two days. Possibility of stronger seismic activity", attaching the warning with an image showing Mercury, Uranus, and Mars, along with their approaching angles to Earth.
A few hours later, two consecutive strong earthquakes struck Venezuela, from Wednesday night to Thursday, leading to the collapse of buildings in the capital, Caracas. Buildings were observed collapsed, and scenes of panic were reported in Caracas, while authorities announced a preliminary death toll of 32 people and 700 others injured.
The acting president, Delcy Rodriguez, declared a state of emergency, as well as the Caracas airport was closed, citing significant damage, and school was suspended, after the earthquakes caused damage across several states. The interim president of Venezuela said that rescue teams from other countries would arrive in the upcoming hours.
The US Geological Survey estimated the strength of the earthquakes at 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale, making them among the strongest seismic events globally recorded since the beginning of this year, according to the German news agency "dpa".
The second earthquake, which was stronger, occurred at a shallow depth of about 10 kilometers, raising concerns of significant damage and casualties.
Rescue teams continue the search for people who may be trapped under the rubble.
The agency reported a stronger second earthquake with a magnitude of 7.5 occurring just one minute later.
