Qatar bids farewell to the World Cup with a defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina

Khaberni - The Qatari team bid farewell to the 2026 World Cup competitions after they lost to the Bosnia and Herzegovina team with a score of 3-1 in the match held at Lumen Field Stadium in Seattle, as part of the third and final round of Group Two competitions.

Bosnia and Herzegovina opened the scoring in the 29th minute through Kerim-Sam Alajbegovic with a stunning shot from outside the penalty area, before doubling their lead with a second goal in the 34th minute after an own goal mistakenly scored by the Qatari defender Sultan Al-Barak in his own net.

Hassan Al-Haydos managed to reduce the margin for Qatar at the 42nd minute benefiting from a pass by Admilson Junior, and the first half ended with Bosnia leading 2-1.

In the second half, the Qatari team tried to come back into the game, but Ermin Mehmeti ended their hopes by scoring the third goal for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 80th minute after successfully following up a ball from a corner kick.

In the other match of the group, the Swiss team defeated Canada with a score of 2-1, raising their points to 7 to lead the standings of Group Two, while Canada took second place with 4 points and also qualified for the next round.

Bosnia and Herzegovina placed third with 4 points with a goal difference, while Qatar came at the bottom of the standings with one point, officially bidding farewell to the tournament.
