The Iraqi artist Rahma Riadh made a notable appearance in the atmosphere of the 2026 World Cup, her voice echoed through the stands of Philadelphia’s stadium via her famous national anthem «Long Live Iraq», accompanying the Iraqi fans during one of the national team's matches in the tournament.
The «Lincoln Financial Field» stadium, which hosted the match between the Iraqi and French teams within the second round of Group Nine, played the song amid a large Iraqi crowd presence in the stands to support the «Lions of Mesopotamia».
Social media users circulated video clips that captured the moment the song started inside the stadium, where fans enthusiastically interacted, reflecting the notable Iraqi fan presence during the global championship competitions.
The appearance of Rahma Riadh's songs at football events is not new, as her name has been associated with several important sports occasions over the past years.
The Iraqi artist had previously performed the song «Rock, Paper, Scissors» for the 2021 Arab Cup in Doha, which gained widespread popularity among the Arabic-speaking audience.
She also performed «Light The Sky», one of the official songs accompanying the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, alongside a group of Arab starlets.
Rahma Riadh enjoys a special place among the Iraqi sports audience, thanks to her national works supporting the national team, notably the song «Long Live Iraq», which has become closely linked to the journey of the «Lions of Mesopotamia» in recent years.
It is worth mentioning that Rahma Riadh recently released the song «First on First» in collaboration with Coca-Cola, coinciding with the World Cup atmosphere, in a project that carried messages of support for Arab teams in general, and the Iraqi team in particular, written by Rami Al-Aboudi and composed by Ali Saber.
