Khaberni - Former representative Mohammad Al-Akkur sparked a significant controversy after publishing a lengthy post on his social media pages, where he responded to criticisms directed at him by activists and supporters of feminist thought, affirming that being described as "backward" does not bother him but rather considers it a badge of honor.
Al-Akkur stated in his post: "It honors me to be considered backward", considering that his adherence to traditional social, religious, and family values is the reason for the criticisms he faces from certain quarters that adopt contrasting ideas.
Al-Akkur asserted that he regards women as a precious gem Khaberni and a source of society’s elevation and stability, emphasizing the importance of preserving the familial and moral values that the Arab and Islamic community was raised upon.
He also directed sharp criticisms at feminist movements and some ideas he described as Westernizing, considering them to contradict the system of values and morals he believes in, urging adherence to religious and social principles and maintaining family cohesion.
Al-Akkur concluded his post by reaffirming his commitment to his convictions and positions, greeting everyone who shares these principles, in his words.
The post generated significant interaction on social media between supporters who saw it as a defense of traditional values, and opponents who believed that some of its content raises controversy regarding women's issues and rights.
And following is what Al-Akkur published:
"It honors me to be considered backward"
Yes, it honors me to be considered backward as described by more than one of the exiles from the feminist "liberated" women who demanded the closure of my page, and who want women to be slaves without value, dignity, or purity…
For I am an Eastern man, regressive, living on the principles of the early centuries of the great Islam, when this nation had dignity under the swords of its knights and the parchments of its scholars who were raised by free virtuous women who made history to which nations bowed.
I am backward as I see a woman as a precious gem, the most valuable part of a man's life whether she is a mother, daughter, wife, or sister, I see her as the secret to society's elevation, a source of pride, and the essence of its happiness and victories, so a man protects her as he protects his soul, and cares for her as he cares for his limbs and self, following the saying of the Almighty, "Men are the protectors and maintainers of women".
I am backward because I am a father, brother, uncle, cousin, and husband who jealously guards the honors and calls for virtue while attacking vice and trampling over the slogans of feminism and its doctrines made by the embassies of deceit, brothels of Freemasonry, and organizations and associations specialized in debauchery plotting against this religion and our moral system....
It honors me to be backward in the creed of deviants and the rejects of Westernization and the leftovers of CEDAW and the sludge of the Beijing conference among others...and I call all men to be backward so we may crush this rebellion against our values and morals, and to protect our families and daughters from those devilish screams that masquerade under the banners of rights, freedom, justice, and participation.....
To you, poor victims who have been thrown by the poisonous thought behind the scenes and twisted corners of organizations, I pray to God for your guidance… and the echo of your screams will not reverberate with the distinguished Arab Muslim woman known for her purity and awareness but will be mere noise in a deep valley...and peace to every backward person like me...
