Yousef Damasi, the father of the deceased young man, revealed impactful details about the hours preceding their knowledge of the shocking news, stating that he still cannot comprehend the loss of his son, who went out to support Al-Nashama and never returned home.
Damasi said in a radio interview that the family received the news of the death suddenly and painfully, after a photo of his son Zaid reached his aunt, which caused a state of anxiety and shock among the family members before confirming the authenticity of the news.
He explained that Zaid had attended the first match of the national team, then later went to watch the second match among the public gatherings, before the stampede incident that led to his death occurred.

In another radio interview, the father of the deceased young man revealed a personal aspect of the family's life, noting that Zaid was the third son among his siblings.
He mentioned that the family experienced an old tragedy coinciding with Zaid's birthday, where they lost their eldest son due to a tragic accident inside the house when he was a young child, making the new misfortune more severe and painful for the family members.
He confirmed that the loss of Zaid brought back painful memories that the family had lived through many years ago, pointing out that grief has overshadowed everyone since they received the news of the death.
Contact loss increased the family's anxiety
Zaid's father pointed out that his son used a phone without a SIM card, relying only on the internet for communication, which made it difficult to reach him after he left the house.
He mentioned that he started to worry in the afternoon hours after trying to contact Zaid several times without being able to reach him, before the details of the tragic incident were later unveiled.
He clarified that the family consisted of four sons and a daughter, but Zaid's death changed this painful reality, leaving him with three sons and a daughter now.
The body of the young deceased is scheduled to be buried in the Rasifa area, where the funeral procession will start from Amina Mosque in the Northern Mountain to Rasifa Cemetery, with wide participation from relatives, friends, and residents of the area.
