Khaberni - In December of last year (2025), the name Ahmad Al-Ahmad, the Syrian-Australian man who captivated the entire world when he tackled an armed assailant opening fire on civilians at Bondi Beach in Australia, dominated the media in entirety. Millions from all over the world admired the courage of this 44-year-old man, and millions of dollars also flowed into his account.
However, it seems that the name of this "hero," as he was described at the time, has come back into circulation, but this time facing charges of assaulting his father.
Ahmad appeared in court today, Wednesday, in Bankstown denying the charges against him.
"Family matter"
When journalists crowded around him to ask about his stance on these charges related to a fight that occurred between him and his father and siblings on March 9th last year at a house in the southwestern Sydney area in Bankstown, he referred comment to his lawyer Mohammed Saqr. The lawyer told journalists: "This is a family matter that was unexpected, and nobody wishes to go through such, and it's undoubtedly extremely difficult for him," according to the "Daily Mail".
He also added, saying: "He is a hero and his honesty and dignity must be preserved until this matter is resolved."
"Nothing is more precious than children"
Meanwhile, Ahmad’s father, Mohammed, expressed hope for the case to be settled before the next scheduled hearing, saying to "ABC News": "God willing, the whole matter will be resolved... because in the end, nothing is more precious than children."
The case is due to return to court on December 3rd.

Earlier this month, Ahmad said that his relationship with his father deteriorated after he reported the alleged extortion attempts by his brothers to the police. He claimed that his father became angry with him and pressured him through other family members to withdraw the complaint against his brothers.
It is to be noted that Ahmad had gained widespread fame after he was shot while helping to control an armed assailant during a terrorist attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney, which resulted in 15 deaths and dozens of injuries, including the man of Syrian origin.
