Khaberni - Bill Gates admitted to having extramarital affairs with a Harvard-educated doctor and a Russian nuclear scientist, during a hearing described as "shocking" linked to the Jeffrey Epstein case.
Weeks before, the Microsoft founder spoke during his appearance before Congress about some of these relationships, revealing for the first time the names of two women he had affairs with while married to his current ex-wife Melinda, according to a transcript of that hearing published last Tuesday.
A doctor and a Russian nuclear scientist and a bridge player
He acknowledged having a relationship with Alice Jacobs Nesserodt, an entrepreneur in the medical field who holds a doctorate from Harvard Medical School.
He also confirmed a relationship with Karina Negmatulina, a Russian nuclear scientist, as well as Mila Antonova, the Russian bridge player.
During an earlier lengthy and embarrassing hearing this month, before the Oversight Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives to investigate Gates' relationship with Epstein, which was one of the main reasons for Melinda's divorce from him in 2021 after 27 years of marriage, Gates was asked very personal questions, including whether he had ever contracted a sexually transmitted disease.
During the session, he also confessed to having three extramarital relationships, the first with Dr. Jacobs. He said he does not remember when he informed Melinda about that relationship, but it was before 2013, the year he told her about his relationship with Negmatulina and also with Mila Antonova, the Russian bridge player.
"Odd comment"
In an odd statement, Gates told the committee that he still views Antonova, who is about 30 years younger, as a "serious bridge player." He explained that informing his wife of the relationships in 2013 was "very upsetting to her," but it did not lead to talks of divorce at that time.
He also mentioned that he met Negmatulina through her work in "disease modeling and nuclear fission," and that she was then working for TerraPower, a company he said he was a major investor in.
He also confirmed that one of his relationships with her occurred in London, and it was among about three million emails linked to Epstein published by the U.S. Department of Justice earlier this year.
In his testimony, he said his relationship with Dr. Jacobs—who currently runs a medical consulting firm—began before 2010.
The committee also explained that Jacobs had first contacted Epstein in October 2009 and became close enough to introduce him to Boris Nikolic, who became a close friend of Gates and played an important role in connecting him with Epstein.
Furthermore, the Microsoft founder confirmed that his former wife stayed with him despite confessing to her twice about having relationships with several women, with the first confession occurring before 2010.
Gates, now 70 years old, remained friends with Epstein for years despite the latter being convicted of sex crimes during that period.
However, after Epstein's suicide, Gates repeatedly apologized for that friendship, and said during his appearance before Congress on June 10 that he wishes he had never met him at all.
