How to Maximize the Free Plan of the Cloud Application

Khaberni - Cloud is currently among the leading AI robots on the market, but free plan users may sometimes be surprised by a message informing them that they have reached the maximum usage limit and must wait before they can continue the conversation.

How does this system work? And what does the 5-hour limit in Cloud mean?

What is the usage limit in the free plan?
The company "Anthropic", which developed Cloud, relies on a different system than just counting the number of messages sent, according to a report published by "slashgear"

Instead of giving the user a fixed number of messages, the platform relies on a Token system, where the cost of each message is calculated based on:

- The length of the message.

- The volume of texts that are processed.

- The complexity of the requested task.

- The size of the preceding conversation context.

In general, users of the free plan can send up to about 40 short messages every five hours, but the actual number can be less or more depending on the nature of the usage.

When the allocated quota is exhausted, the user must wait until a new five-hour window begins to regain the ability to send messages.

Why isn't there a fixed number of messages?
The main reason is that Cloud charges the user not only based on the number of messages but on the amount of computing resources that each conversation requires.

For example:

- A short, simple question consumes a limited number of tokens.

- Analyzing a long document or writing a detailed report consumes a much greater amount.

Therefore, some users might be able to send dozens of messages during the same period, while others might reach the limit quickly due to undertaking more complex tasks.

Have usage limits increased recently?
Anthropic recently announced that it has expanded Cloud's computing capabilities through new partnerships and investments, but the increase in usage limits has only benefited subscribers of paid plans including: "Cloud Pro - Cloud Max - Cloud Team".

However, users of the free plan are still subject to the current usage system.

How can you avoid reaching the maximum limit quickly?
There are several ways to maximize the use of Cloud without exhausting the available quota in a short period.

1- Gather your questions in one message

Instead of sending multiple consecutive messages, try to include all details and questions in one clear and comprehensive message.

The more accurate the instructions from the beginning, the less need there is for additional messages for clarification.

2- Write detailed instructions

Vague requests often lead to inaccurate responses, prompting the user to send additional correction messages.

Therefore, it is recommended to specify the required task accurately from the first time to reduce the number of interactions.

3- Use the message editing feature

If Cloud misunderstands your request, it is better to edit the original message and regenerate the answer instead of sending a new message for correction.

This method helps in reducing the usage of available quota.

4- Start new conversations regularly

The longer the conversation, the more context Cloud needs to process, which increases token usage.

For this reason, after a large number of messages, it is advised to:

- Ask Cloud to summarize the conversation.

- Copy the summary.

- Open a new conversation.

- Paste the summary and continue from there.

This step helps minimize resource usage and improve efficiency.

5- Distribute your tasks throughout the day

If you rely heavily on Cloud, it is better to spread tasks over different periods instead of exhausting the entire quota in a short period.

Why do long conversations increase in cost?
At the start of any conversation, Cloud needs to process only a small amount of data.

But as the discussion continues and messages accumulate, the model must review more context to fully understand the conversation.

For this reason, messages in long conversations consume a significantly higher number of tokens compared to the initial messages, even if they were short.

Cloud's usage limit depends on the consumption of resources, not just the number of messages. Therefore, writing clear requests, reducing repeated messages, and creating new conversations when needed are all steps that help maximize the use of the free plan before reaching the 5-hour limit.

For users who rely on Cloud daily and intensively, upgrading to a paid plan might be a suitable option to obtain higher usage limits and a more flexible experience.
