Technical Malfunction Paralyzes Germanys Railway Network

Khaberni - The German National Railway Company "Deutsche Bahn" announced that all trains in the country "stopped working" on Tuesday evening due to a fault in the railway wireless communication systems.

After decades of underinvestment leading to a decline in train punctuality, Germany is trying to rapidly modernize its aging railway network through massive public investment.

"Deutsche Bahn" wrote on its website, "Our technicians are working with maximum effort to resolve this issue," without specifying how long the interruption will last.

Evelyn Bala, the company's president told the newspaper "Bild", "We are now trying to get the trains to the stations so that passengers can get off. After that, we will need to fix the problem, the nature of which we do not yet know."

In the north, the private regional railway company "Metropol" reported that the trains are "completely immobile due to a widespread disruption of the railway wireless communications".

Simon Martins, spokesperson for the company "Metronom" which operates regional lines around the cities of Hamburg, Bremen, and Hanover, and transports more than 120,000 passengers daily, told Agence France-Presse, "We believe that no trains will operate tonight".

The company advised its customers to look for alternative transportation.

The public transport authority in Berlin reported via the platform X that this interruption affects all trains operated by "Deutsche Bahn".
