England player refuses to shake hands with Ghanas Partey after he is accused of raping 7 times

Khaberni - Jed Spence of the England team did not shake hands with his Ghanaian counterpart, Thomas Partey, before the start of the match between the two teams in the second round of the group stage at the 2026 World Cup on Tuesday, following the latter's accusation of raping 7 times and sexual assault.

The newspaper "The Sun" published photos showing Spence, a Tottenham player, avoiding shaking hands with Partey, a former Arsenal player, before the start of the match, against the background of accusations of rape and sexual assault, which prevented him from entering Canada last week to play a match with his team against Panama.

Partey faces 7 charges of rape and a charge of sexual assault in incidents alleged to have occurred in London between 2020 and 2022 when he was playing for Arsenal.

The English FA advised its players to focus on the tournament and avoid stirring up sensitive topics, while giving them the freedom to choose whether or not to shake hands with the Ghanaian player.
