Khaberni - Thousands of users in Jordan, Egypt, and several other countries complained today of a sudden outage that affected the Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram platforms owned by Meta, causing notable disturbances while using the services.
Users reported experiencing automatic logouts, along with difficulties opening the apps, updating content, and browsing pages and posts, whether on mobile phones or computers.
Social media users circulated complaints about issues logging into accounts and sending messages via Messenger, as well as problems loading content or refreshing the home page on Instagram for some users.
The outage sparked a flurry of debate and questions among users, some of whom resorted to other platforms to determine whether the issue was widespread or linked to their personal accounts.
Meta, the owner of Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram, has not yet issued an official statement regarding the cause of the outage or when the services will return to normal, while users await an official clarification regarding the circumstances of the problem.
