Prince Ali Reposts Condolence Statement for Fan Zaid AlDamasi

Khaberni - Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Football Association, late Tuesday – Wednesday, reposted the statement of condolence for the young Jordanian fan Zaid Al-Damasi, which was issued by the Jordan Football Association.

The association had previously mourned the young Jordanian fan Zaid Al-Damasi, who passed away while attending the national team's match against the Algerian team as part of the 2026 World Cup competitions.

The association stated in its statement that it mourns "the young Jordanian fan Zaid Al-Damasi, who passed away while attending the match of the national team against Algeria".

Earlier, the spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate stated that the identity of the deceased young person in the center of the capital, Amman (Hashemite Square) on Tuesday morning was determined, and his family was notified to complete the necessary procedures.

He added that all the injured had left the hospital after receiving treatment, except for one case which is still receiving treatment for a foot injury.

Earlier, the Public Security Directorate announced that 9 people were transported to the hospital early Tuesday, due to injuries sustained during a stampede inside Hashemite Square.

The directorate clarified that one of the injured later died, and the body was transferred to forensic medicine to determine the cause of death.

The incident occurred following public gatherings in Hashemite Square in Amman to watch the national football team's match against its Algerian counterpart in the 2026 World Cup competitions.
