Khaberni - The Omani news agency reported on Tuesday that the Sultanate of Oman has announced that it has coordinated with the International Maritime Organization to allow a temporary maritime corridor for ships wishing to cross the Strait of Hormuz.
The agency added that the "ships wishing to cross must coordinate with the International Maritime Organization... according to the coordinates announced by the International Maritime Organization and the relevant Omani authorities."
This measure aims to ensure freedom of navigation through this strategic maritime corridor in accordance with international law and the law of the sea, which support the freedom of navigation without imposing transit fees.
