Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for Portugal early in the 6th minute, taking advantage of a precise ground cross from Joao Cancelo and converting it into the net with a direct shot.
The Portuguese team added the second goal in the 17th minute through Nuno Mendes, who executed a direct free kick successfully after Ronaldo deceived everyone into thinking he was going to take it.
