Khaberni - The General Director of the Department of Statistics, Haider Al-Freihat, confirmed that the field performance indicators for the 2026 General Population and Housing Census are recording rapid progress in the actual implementation on the ground, noting that the overall completion rate has reached 90%.
This was stated during a meeting held at the Balqa Governorate building with the governorate's executive council, chaired by the Governor of Balqa, Faisal Al-Masa'ed, where the latest updates of the current phase of the census were reviewed.
According to the presented data, the completion rate of the buildings census reached 90%, while the completion of block mapping reached 89.7%, reflecting progress in preparing the necessary spatial and graphic base for the counting phase.
Al-Freihat mentioned the continued popularity of the self-enumeration service, with 21.5% of participants opting to use it, confirming that this service contributes to enhancing execution efficiency and providing more flexible options for families.
The meeting discussed mechanisms to support field teams and strengthen coordination between different entities, emphasizing the importance of the role of local administrations in the success of this national project and in providing accurate statistical data to support planning and decision-making.
For his part, the Governor of Balqa emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation between institutions to ensure the success of the census work, considering it a fundamental step in providing a modern database that serves development pathways in the kingdom.
