Japan funds a project to establish water harvesting infrastructure in the Wadi Araba region

Khaberni - The Jordanian and Japanese governments reached a joint agreement enabling the Jordanian government to utilize an amount of (169,342) Jordanian Dinars from the Jordanian-Japanese account for the purpose of funding a small-scale infrastructure project for harvesting water in the Wadi Araba area in Aqaba Governorate for the benefit of the Jordan Valley Authority in the Kingdom.

This project aims to help farmers and livestock breeders adapt to the effects of climate change, through the implementation of effective rainwater harvesting techniques and collecting the largest possible amount of it for use. It will also contribute to enhancing local water supply and supporting livelihoods in rural areas through sustainable water management and harvesting solutions.

It is noteworthy that the Jordanian-Japanese counterpart account was established in 1997 to fund projects related to achieving economic and social development and activities in the field of agriculture, in addition to increasing food production in the Kingdom.
